Ride Me Easy


The pace of life getting to you? Need to slow down? Try brewing up one of old England's vinegars. A recipe taken from my new found companion and friend "Good Things in England" by Florence White.

Rhubarb Vinegar

Ingredients: Cold water 1 gallon; brown sugar 1lb; rhubarb 2lb; yeast 1/2oz compressed yeast. Time 14 days to stand; about 14 days to work; 12 months in barrel, 12 months in bottle. (Only then will it be fit for use.)

It's advisable you make a note of where you've stored it!
