Carry on Up the Khyber

"We're all doo..oomed". David, our beloved and cherub like leader has told us so. In truth he told that to the Conservative Party: and they are. I can't see them forming a tea club let alone a Government in 2015.

I frankly don't care anymore. I've lost the will to think. Having been bludgeoned by the Jimmy Saville revelations: actually not so much those but the torrent of comment they've provoked. Much appears to me to be  unconsidered and  extremely generalised.I'll wait 'til the police finish their investigation.

And then there's the shooting of the Muslim girl in Pakistan. What can you say. Why? What warped theology justifies such actions. It takes a huge conscious effort not to see all of Pakistan and its people as irredeemably lost and brutish. Of course they are not, but such events encourage that view. Is that what the Taliban or whoever they are are trying to do. To get us to hate Pakistan, Arabs and all of Islam as much as they hate the West? I hope not.

I'm thankful for the inconveniences and frustrations that litter my days - they show that, despite a brutish world, things carry on much as before.

Like being phoned up at least 10 times a day to be asked if I would do a life time survey or to be told my computer has a virus which needs fixing. It's "thank you and goodbye" and the phone goes down. I used to play along but now I can't waste my breath. They usually ask for my wife; could it be they know that speaking to me is pointless? Touch wood I don't get any more accident or PPI calls.

I've discover "Only Fools and Horses" at lunchtime on the Beeb. Only one word is needed to describe the sit-com. Perfect. It bristles with good humour, a love of life and the joy misfortune can bring when it's shared with a load of plonkers.

I heard that David Jason has been knighted. I think I'll leave it there.

This must be the most boring blog which you have posted. Like going from broadsheet standard to red top. Please don't do it again otherwise I will have to delete you from my favourites!

I'm so sorry. I will try harder. Would hate to lose you Anon.

I take comfort from being compared to a broadsheet.

I am avoiding all deeper investigation of the Saville debacle. The headlines are more than enough.

You are missing out if you're not getting a dozen calls about PPI claims at the moment...suggest you must be on the wrong list as life surveys and computer viruses are so last year...

Dear Steve, totally agree.

Dear NB. I'm distraught. to think I'm so last year!

You can't be so last year if you are connected on linkedin to e-styler....
